Bad Mommy Day

Today's Events:

7:30AM - wake up, make Emily's bottle and coffee

8AM - fall asleep on the couch, Emily in the crib

8:30AM - pick up crying Emily and fall asleep on couch again, Emily on chest.

11AM - wake up, make mommy breakfast, Emily's lunch bottle - all the while thinking, wow we both slept a lot

12PM - Emily's solids feeding, noticing that Emily's forehead is quite warm.

12:15PM - take Emily's temperature - result: 100.1

12:33PM - make dr's appointment for 2PM (preface: Emily just recovered from a bad cold last week), try not to cry in frustration

1PM - take Emily's temperature again - result: 99.6, attempt to put Emily's diaper back on and discover she's peed all over her front side, call dr's office to cancel appointment cause there's no way we're going to get a bath, ready, and to the office in time, and besides, her temperature is down...

1:15PM - finish the bath in good time, begin contemplating the fact 1) Emily had a cold. 2) Emily's been pulling her ears 3) Emily is out of sorts and has been for two days....

1:16PM - call dr's office to re-schedule 2PM dr's appointment and apologize to Samantha for being Spaz Mom

2PM - see the awesome Dr. Williams go through checking out procedures. Eyes, mouth, throat, joints, girly bits, lungs, tummy, ears: All green. Get instructions to come back tomorrow if there's a severe temp spike tonight or on Friday if minor temps persist.

3PM - visit Publix for infant Ibruprophen before returning home.

4PM - Arrived home, administered Infant drops, got Emily napping on the bed, continue to study for Wed. Night Ladies group.

5PM - Wonderful hubby arrives home with dinner which happens to coincide with Emily waking up fussing. Hubby watches baby while I finish my study.

7:10PM - arrive at Wed. night study late and in near-tears state after feeding baby, watching baby throw tantrums and contemplating that I've already screwed up Emily's discipline attitude, caused Emily's unknown illness inadvertently through carelessness and that I'm the worst possible mommy in the world...ok, at least in the nation.

7:11PM - Get the perfect encouragement and reassurance that I'm NOT the worst mommy ever from women's group consisting of grandmas and a mommy collectively with over 10 kids/grandkids under their belts.

8:20PM - Arrive back home, much refreshed to even more wonderful hubby who offers to stay with me and screaming Emily instead of going to Worship team practice. (Note: He's also had a terrible day and just sat with a screaming baby for an hour.)

10:20PM - finish up latest Blogger post (aka: self-therapy) after relieving most wonderful hubby, feeding baby, rocking baby, attempting to put baby to sleep for an hour.

Sleep can't be far away.
Say my prayers: Thank you Lord for my support system.
