Jamie's 2nd Birthday Party
   |
Jamie's 2nd Birthday party at Doodlebugs, Acworth was a wonderful time for the whole family. The girls had a great time playing with the birthday girl and all the toys at the new indoor playground. |
Easter 2012We went to the egg hunt at CCC again. Emily picked up a butterfly egg that she kept. It was great fun.

An Afternoon NapEmily rarely naps in the afternoon anymore. It's a blessed break for me...and she's still so cute bundled up!
|
Len and ElizabethIt's so nice watching Len and Lizzie bond, to see their similarities . Of course, watching tv on their bellies isn't genetic, but it still makes a cute pic.

Trip to the MallWe (Demains and Sawyers, minus the daddies) took a day trip to the Town Center Mall in Kennesaw just for something different to do. We were met with an unexpected bonus! They had ride on cars, a train, and a soft play area for the toddlers. The girls had great time and we celebrated the day with a cup of ice cream.

Sadly, I had a scare this day. I lost Lizzie. The soft play area doesn't have a gate per se...just an overlapping wall for the entrance. She wandered out and ended up in a uniform store. You can see it in the pic of Emily above. It was all of 10 seconds, but some of the most terrifying. At the time I was in complete disbelief that something was wrong. Luckily another mommy had seen Lizzie wander past her and told me as I was searching the walkway. Later I started reflecting on what could've happened...*shudder* |
The beautiful Lizzie B.
We went for a walk by the pond and Lizzie was nice enough to model this flower necklace by mommy.
Playdate at Nana'sOften we've gone out with Connor and E.W. but this time, we got together with Nana, Connor's grandmother. She had her neice with her. She and Em enjoyed the see-saw, chalk drawing, sliding, swinging, football, bubbles, and um...um...so many other fun things I've forgotten! We'll definitely be joining her another day. Grandmas rock.

 | The gardening adventureSo much of my writing is about the girls, which of course, is what the blog is about. This little bit is about me.
I've always gotten a thrill at the idea of a growing garden. My grandmother had one and it was a magical place to me. Not that I spent all that much time in it, but the food that came out of it was SO delicious and contributed so much to the magic of "Grandma's House". (Just a short list: snapping beans on the porch, canned tomatoes, canned winter pickles)
Well, any kind of plant I tried to care for in the past died. I had the proverbial black thumb. Until this year. A friend of mine blessed me with a tomato plant. After that I kept some green bell pepper seeds. The girls have been very excited to help me water them and care for them. I even got some sprouts off the tomato plant to take root too! Yesterday we plucked our fourth tomato! So far, no bell peppers, but I did grow those from seeds. I had a total of 17 sprouts which I've shared out.
Anyway, I just wanted to share the thrill within that I do keep a little of my own grandmother today. |
Summer fun
It's been very hot this summer so we've gotten out the water worm as much as we can afford the water costs!
