We didn't really take any photos on Thanksgiving Day, but we did take a little video of Emily explaining what Thanksgiving meant...unfortunately, Len and I are not fluent in "Baby". As for the day itself, we spent it enjoying the best home cooking with good friends! (Secret: Nanny Frances is the next Rachel Ray!)
Thanksmas/Christgiving:
This is the little known holiday in between Thanksgiving and Christmas that we celebrated with my dad and step mom. Hopefully they had a blast with Emily cause she had an awesome time with them and the dogs. Plus, we had a big awesome breakfast the morning of our last day. It was awesome.
After that, things got really crazy in the month of December. I think we did almost 2 activities every week! Among them, but most w/o pictures was Caroling & Cookies. Emily and I were part of the prep team so we didn't actually go 'caroling' but prepped (and I mean tested) the cookies and cocoa table for when the carolers returned.
Then we went with a group from church to the live display event sponsored by Hopewell Baptist Church called "Back to Bethlehem". Our neighbors and play pals, Mindy & Ellie joined us too! It was cool. They had set up over thirty displays to make it look like Bethlehem the night Jesus was born! They had live animals (goats, sheep, lambs, chickens, even a camel!) walking around for the children to see, pet and feed. The displays were either shops of goods (foods, jewelry, baskets) or tradesmen (leatherworkers, woodcarvers, even a blacksmith) or they were storytellers. Not to mention the battalion of Roman soldiers walking about gruffly.

The week after was the Church Open House, but unfortunately, Emily and I slept right through it! Good thing too, I might've lost my mind w/o that little store up of rest. Then the Youth Banquet. Emily made a short appearance before getting the night off. I had agreed to take some commemorative portraits for everyone.
That brings us to our Friends' Dinner: the annual party of E.E., Aly, "Edgar" and their families and significants. Definitely a blast every year but oddly enough, not one photo was taken! Not even on a phone camera! So odd considering that last year I completely broke out all the stops and setup a timer on my camera w/tripod just to catch a photo every so often!
OK, this starts the week of Christmas where I enlisted the help of Nanny Frances to watch Emily while prepping all the lovely things for Christmas Eve services. Len and I both agreed to prepare a song. (Plus I agreed to prep on 2 other things). It was a crazy three days before Christmas Eve. Services were wonderful! Unfortunately due to some technical difficulties, I was only able to record Len's song and not mine. (Sorry Daddy-O :( )
Then we stayed overnight with my mom to spend all Christmas Day together!
Plus we returned the favor and had our good friends from Thanksgiving Dinner join us for Christmas dinner! (Which also was the official christening party of her new renovations.) Mom and I had a blast cooking in her new kitchen.
Later that night while Len was watching the Chargers stomp the Titans into the ground, the rest of us went to see "Sherlock Holmes". Yup, even Emily! She slept most of the way through it, but woke up, took a bottle, then climbed out of my lap into her car seat (in the seat next to mine) and leaned back to watch the rest of the film! It was so cute I wish I'd had a camera! Oh, the movie was cool too ;)
Ok, think we're done? Nope! Not yet!
New Year's EVE! We renewed our annual plans with the D's! They were awesome to come over to our place so we didn't have to find a sitter for Emily. She did pretty good playing around and went to bed on time. However, Hadji got most into the spirit.

Whew...what a whirlwind....I still have to take down the holiday decorations, but we're pretty much ready to start the new year off right! We've got a meeting with our lawyer this week to discuss a way to end our bankruptcy early, so please pray for us that things go well or at least progress in a positive manner!
