First Museum

We had our first family trip to the Tellus Northwest Georgia Science Museum today.

Again, we were joined by E.E. and Connor. It was awesome fun and we didn't even get through all of it! If you're in the area, I do hope you get to go. Below we're in the motorized vehicles and then the space exploration exhibits. We're looking at one of the first motorcycles and Emily got to "try on" a spacesuit.

This is Emily in the geology room. They have a pressure plate set up so you can create your own earthquake. Look how she did...

(Yes, those tiny little blips.) No, she didn't register too much on the Richter scale. However, she had a great time touching the touchable exhibits such as the rock and crystal formations. Also, she found the Periodic Table of Elements fascinating. The dinosaur bones were a bit uninteresting and unfortunately she zonked out before we got to the fun science room where you could play with lights, magnets, switches and and noisemakers. (The mommies and dad had a great time in there! :)

One of the last things we did was pan for gold and minerals. No gold, but we picked up a fossil for Emily's scrapbook:

We took lots more pictures here on the Picasa album.

(Oh, by the way, thanks to all who come and check up on Emily's exploits. We have a great time keeping it updated. Don't forget you can leave a message by clicking on an entry title and using the form at the bottom of the page.)

  1. I love the pic of her in the space suit. You were right, it's terribly cute.

  2. Hoy Petry!

I feel like we haven't talked in ages, but I'm glad for the opportunity to keep up with you and Emily here. :) Hope all is well, take care!
