We had the place all to ourselves which was strange considering it was such a lovely afternoon. Later some families showed up for tee ball practice on the fields behind us.

Emily loved this playground. I think it's the variety of things on which she can climb. There's only one ladder on our neighborhood playset. What she's on right there is an uneven ladder. Len helped her get steady at the top and she made it the rest of the way. On the opposite side is a set of bars curved over. It always made me nervous to watch her climb up those because the bars are so far spaced apart. (She has no fear.) To Emily's mind, the slides go both ways. Len and Emily were rolling a super-bounce ball up and down that straight ladder. Several times Emily just couldn't get it to roll down so she flung it off the playset for Dad to chase! I can't believe I missed that pic.

For the first time, Emily seemed to really enjoy the tunnel. She climbed right in chasing Len, they rolled the ball back and forth through it, Emily and I sat in there coloring on a picture. (In a coloring book, of course, not the walls.) Len stuck his legs out one end, I put my head out the other end like a magician's box, but I think the humor was lost on the girls.
It was a very pleasant afternoon; good to get out of the house. Now, a special treat for you, some cutey-pie shots:
