Family Trip - Part 2

Saturday
Introducing Emily to more Demain family is still a wonderful experience! On this trip, Emily has met Grandma, Grandpa, three aunties, two uncles, three cousins, and two second cousins. At first she was a little hesitant, but within the day, she was toddling around the house, playing peek-a-boo with Brydon, filling the fruit basket with Chantel, and in general enjoying the company of family.

Sunday
On Sunday, we went to Pier 39 for a day trip. Team Emily went shopping and to the Aquarium on the pier. Yup, that's Daddy and Grandpa changing the diaper!
Her favorite display was the jellyfish. She didn’t much care for bright fish. Afterwards, they went to the NFL shop.

Team 2 went to Alcatraz Island for the tour of the prison and gardens. We took an audio tour where they hang a little tape recorder around your neck and talk you through the displays at the prison. After that, we took a short walk down the coast through the garden and around to the dock to go back to the city and meet up with Team Emily. We ate a dinner of fish at a yummy yummy lunch counter and stopped for some pictures at the street bridge and headed home.

Monday
Monday, Emily spent the day at home with Grandma and Grandpa while Gran-Gran, Mommy, Daddy, and Auntie Frances took a tour through wine country. I was a little worried because Emily was still wary of Grandma. She and Grandpa had started playing chase the day before, so we knew overall, she’d be fine. Upon returning, we found Emily napping on Grandma.

Tuesday
Today is Tuesday and Uncle Adrian (Len’s brother) and Auntie Toby arrive to meet Emily and spend time with the family. First on the list, we visited the Korbel Winery. Did you know that Korbel made wine? I didn't. They also make Brandy and Port. We got to taste four different champagnes. Naturally, they were delicious. I highly recommend the Korbel Winery Tour. Emily did well all day. During the tour, she took great interest in what the guide was saying.

Later...

We visited the Redwoods State Park. We saw the largest tree and the oldest tree. Emily did quite well on the hike. It was almost two miles. Halfway through she got a little fussy so we turned her around in the carrier and she went right to sleep on Mom's tummy.

Stay tuned for more activity later in the week.
