Massive Media Update

I'm sure you're wondering what we've been up to lately because there's no updates whatsoever! So glad you asked...Mommy has been in a play. (photo below.)

Dad has been watching Emily while mom's in a play...Emily has been growing and growing...and growing! There's lots to tell you and even more to show you so settle in...

First off: Some proof! Emily crawls!

Chapter 1: Swimming Adventures

Mommy took Emily "swimming" late last month. We pulled on some Swimmers diapers by Huggies, chose a sleeveless onsie for the swimsuit, smeared the baby with sunscreen, added a hat, and headed out to the pool with Annabelle and her mommy, Rachel. Emily liked the water, but she was quite curious about the fact it was much colder than taking a bath.

Chapter 2: Running Errands

During the first week of June, we had two days of running around multiple towns to get Lars ready for the play. On Day 1, we visited Len at work and took him and our friend Katherine to lunch. We then went into Atlanta and stopped off at the Marietta Square to pick up some things from Eddie's Trick Shop. We also decided to stop for a snack at the park on the Square. Mommy had ice cream; baby had a bowl of peas. Day 2 took us in circles from three city offices in Cartersville to Woodstock, Chastain Road, and back to Cartersville to get strings for Dad's guitar. All in all, we've had some nice times just getting out.

Chapter 3: Visit from PaPa

Lars' dad came up to Cartersville one day and decided to take Lars and Emily to Cracker Barrel for lunch! Emily immediately charmed everyone there but I'm sure it also had something to do with the fact that Pa Pa kept making her laugh and giggle. She does have the most infectious giggle, but I'm sure that's all babies...Oh! Be sure to watch the scrolling slideshow. Pa Pa gave awesome efforts to get Emily into her carseat without assistance. I was quite impressed.

Chapter 4: Summer Fun

One day, Dad decided the floors needed vacuuming so mom and Emily went outside for a little picnic behind the building. The same place where the last picnic was. We snapped a few pictures and mom held out as long as she could slapping bugs down and smushing ants that happened to get on our blanket. However, after an hour, we were both pretty tired and ready for some air conditioning. Also this summer, Emily has a nanny! She comes over three days a week so mom can get some work done. On Tuesday, Ms. Frances fed Emily her first carrots! So far on the good foods list we've got rice, oatmeal, squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, pears, apples, peas but definitely NOT green beans.

Chapter 5: Silly baby time

How silly is the baby? Let's see...Example #1: Hiccups

Example #2: Playing with the Wrapping Paper Roll

Chapter 6: Playing Pretend: Emily and mommy played pretend on Tuesday night. I pretended to be a Bundle Monster and did a speed crawl up to her from behind the couch to nom nom on the Bundle's tummy. Bundle pretended that mommy was the funniest thing she had EVER seen and giggled and laughed uproariously so much that mommy couldn't play anymore because she was out of breath from laughing so hard! This went on for at least ten minutes straight. Of course when GranGran and Dad showed up and mommy tried to demonstrate for them, there was nothing but silence or the stray grin. Gran Gran and Dad looked at mommy like she was a nutcase. It was still all in good fun and mommy looks forward to the next game of pretend.

Epilogue:

Well, I've just uploaded photos and facts from the past three weeks. While I've been doing this, Emily has crawled down the hallway and stood herself up against the wall...who knows when you'll get another update!?
