Family Dr. Visits

Laura - Doctor says it's definitely a gall bladder problem. My blood work came back A-OK. On Friday I get an ultrasound of my GB to see if I have stones. If there are stones then surgery. If not, I'll have a test to see how well my GB is functioning. If it comes back ok, they'll wait a couple of months to see if the problems were hormonal because of the pregnancy. If it doesn't come back ok, I'll have it out. So, best case scenario, I could be ok in a couple of months. Update: 2/22/09 - I have several gall stones that will have to be dealt with. The good news, we know what the problem is and that it will be taken care of. :)
Update 2/24/09 - Surgery is scheduled in two weeks to remove my gall stones. Pray that they are pretty elementary and there are no complications.

Emily - Her 4mth check-up went flawlessly. She is now 12lbs. 11oz., 24.25in. long. The doctor recommended that we give her more tummy time cause the back of her head is a little flat. Of course, she wants to sit up more often now and the doctor said that would help too. She's a growing girl and the doctor also recommended that by the end of the month she should be eating 26oz./day. We won't be starting her on solids for awhile as the formula/breastmilk mix seems to satisfy her just fine. She had a 2nd round of vaccines today, took it like a champ and is sporting three band-aids! (Mommy did better too.)

Len - Well, it seems Len had the most eventful doctor visit. Doc pulled three waxy chunks out of his ear so now he can hear me. He may have cartilage damage in his knee but unless it's hindering everyday life, doctor suggested he go without surgery. Lastly, his blood pressure was up and he will have to go in next week for a 24 hour heart monitor. Update 2/27/09 Len officially has high blood pressure and is now on medication for it.

So, we're all knocked around a bit but overall it could be much worse!

  2. What is involved with the 24-hour heart monitor? That doesn't sound fun at all.

If you do need the gall bladder surgery, I'll do my best to help you out as much as possible. What hospital do you think you'd use?

Emily is such a cute little string bean! Long and slender! She's gonna tower over Connor!

Connor has his 6 month check-up tomorrow. Wish me luck!
