There was some concern about Laura's blood count, so they ran some tests. Emily made certain that the doctors "check Mama's blood".
When it seemed that mom and baby would be cleared to go home, dad went to prepare a place for the new arrival. Gran-Gran and Emily helped mom pack up Elizabeth and her stuff for the ride home. They were on the road before 5.
A few visitors came bearing gifts for mom and dad - dinner (or supper, if you're vocabulary requires) [Side note: The doctor and nurse went into an extended discussion over the meaning of dinner and supper. It was important for setting the check-out time for the family.]Melanie and Gale introduced themselves to Elizabeth after delivering the evening meal.
Now mom, dad, and Elizabeth are working on a routine. Pray for us, please.
